The MedMira team is led by a group of passionate and committed people with in-depth knowledge and expertise in biotechnology, infectious diseases, regulatory, and commercialization of diagnostics.
HERMES CHAN CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER Hermes Chan, co-founder, and President & Chief Executive Officer of MedMira leads a passionate and committed team in driving the strategic direction and growth of the company in global markets. Hermes, who was named BioScience Innovator of the Year by The Economist in 2007, is the inventor of MedMira's patented rapid flow-through technology (RFT) platform, upon which all of the company's rapid tests are developed. Since the company's inception in 1994 he has held progressively senior management roles at MedMira including Research Scientist, General Manager, Senior Vice President, and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to MedMira, Hermes worked with another Canadian biotechnology company in the diagnostics research sector.
DANIEL FRID, CFA, CMA CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER Dan joined MedMira in July 2010 as Chief Financial Officer. Responsible for the company’s financial management, Dan leads strategic financial planning, ensures fiscal accountability, and oversees the financial and accounting operations. Prior to joining MedMira, Dan was a member of the Senior Management Team for Keane Canada Inc., serving as the Director of Finance and Information Technology. Dan is a CFA charterholder and Certified Management Accountant, and a member of the CFA Institute, the Atlantic Canada CFA Society, and CMA Nova Scotia, Bermuda, and the Caribbean. Dan graduated from St. Mary’s University with an MBA.
SING CHAN CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER Sing joined MedMira in 2000, and has held progressively senior management roles including Vice President of Operations. As Chief Operating Officer, Sing is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Company with a focus on MedMira’s in-country manufacturing and production as well as end-to-end supply chain management with outsourced service providers. He also manages the internal operations improvements and organizational design. Sing graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Computer Science.
